Blood Tests and Gene Test

Janet posted this on Facebook Monday evening and I think it’s important enough to have it’s own post.

“Here’s a link to Rodney Ford’s website where he explains the tests for gluten intolerance and celiac disease:

http://drrodneyford.com/faq/bloods-tests/gluten-blood-tests.html

Just as there are two ways to determine if a tire is sound, (i.e. depth of tread and amount of air in the tire), there are two ways to check for sensitivity to gluten. One looks for tissue damage, the other looks for antibodies.

I had the test listed under number 2 as well as a genetic test (which can be done through Enterolab: https://www.enterolab.com/StaticPages/TestToOrder.aspx#Genetic_testing)

The gene test can’t tell you if you have celiac disease or some other form of gluten sensitivity but it can tell you if you are predisposed to developing them.”

Thank you Janet
